  •  Database Server Mode:-

  •  QuickBooks User Login:-

Ensure that every user has their user id and password.

  • Permission of Window File:-

Make sure that the user has logged in, he must have the permission to full control their company files and can modify the files and look at the files.

Hosting modes:-

The hosting mode settings are used by the multiple versions of QuickBooks 2016 or later. There are three different modes of hosting:-

  1. Not Hosting Mode:-
  • QuickBooks Database Server Manager also runs just like the windows user runs QuickBooks as a normal process.
  • The multi-user mode is not supported by the Not Hosting mode. The access of the database server file can be used by the QuickBooks user on the local computer.
  1. Hosting Local Files
  • The QuickBooks database server and The windows user QBDataServiceUserXX is running the window server QuickBooks DBXX.
  •  The service QuickBooksDBXX runs on your computer till it is on.
  • To communicate with the QuickBooks, multi-user mode is supported using TCP/IP. QuickBooks users who are on remote computers can access the company files. 
  • The computer that runs on this mode can host the files which are located on that computer. 
  1. Hosting Local and Remote File
  • As a normal process like the currently logged Windows user QuickBooks Database Manager will run. If the user logs on then this process will start and when they logged off then this process will stop.
  • If the computer is running then it supports QuickBooks to communicate with multi-user mode but it ends using TCP/IP.
  • The user who works on a remote computer can access the company files using the database server.
  • This mode can also host files that are saved on the local computer if it running. On local files, these files will also be opened.

Ways to Download QuickBooks File Doctor Tool

There are some ways that QuickBooks file doctor download on your software and install it, follow the below-mentioned steps:-

  • Firstly, download the QuickBooks tool hub and then go to the download by pressing Ctrl+J together.
  • Then, click on the QuickBooksToolHub.exe from the download list.
  • Now, the next steps are to tap on ‘yes’ to accept the license agreement.
  • After that, click on the Install option and then tap on Next.
  • When the installation process is complete then you have to click on the Finish option.

  • Firstly, you have to open the Company File Issues from the tool hub to run QuickBooks File Doctor Tool.
  • Then, select the run QuickBooks file doctor option and wait till this process started.
  • After that, in QBFD from the drop-down menu, you have to choose Company files. 
  • If you are not able to see that file then you can search it on the browser.
  • After that, select the check the file option and click on it.
  • At last, you have to type the QuickBooks admin password and tap on the Next button.
  • Note that, the scan time totally depends on the file size. Mainly, it will take 5 min. And when it has been done then you have to open QuickBooks and the company file. 

How does QuickBooks determine which database server to communicate with?

There are some ways through which QuickBooks determine the database server to communicate with are below:-

  1. It will search for .ND files and file is a small text file that has the same company file name but doesn’t have .ND extension. It will be located in the same directory where the company file is. The company file has a .qbw extension. In the directory, all the IP addresses and ports, contact the server stored on it.
  2. The .qbw file is used or not but QuickBooks Desktop will determine.
  3. When if QuickBooks desktop search for .ND text file then it also detects the company file. After that, QuickBooks tries to communicate with servers like this:-
  • If the communication is successfully done then the company file is opened by QuickBooks.
  • If the communication is not successfully done then you will receive an error message which describes how to resolve this error like you can see this type of solution in errors H101, H202, H303, and H505.
